1. The two deployment models

TapeScript is offered as a hosted product (Lite) that runs on our infrastructure, and as a self-installed product (Pro) that you run on hardware you control. On Pro, your strategies, uploaded data, and broker credentials stay on your own server — we do not receive them. This Policy primarily governs the hosted Service and our website.

2. Information we collect

• Account data — name, email, and password (stored hashed) when you register.
• Billing data — subscriptions are processed by our payment provider (Whop). We receive subscription status and identifiers; we do not store your full card details.
• Content you create — strategy descriptions, generated code, backtests, uploads, and notes you submit to the hosted Service.
• AI provider keys — if you supply your own AI key, it is used to route your requests to that provider; it is stored only to operate the Service.
• Usage & technical data — log data, device/browser information, and cookies needed to authenticate your session and operate the Service.

3. How we use information

To provide and secure the Service, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, improve features, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-party services

We share limited data with providers that help us run the Service, including our payment processor (Whop), infrastructure/hosting providers, and — only when you choose to use them — the AI model providers you connect with your own key. These providers process data under their own terms.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. Data retention & security

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
